About us & our ethos
Social Enterprise Direct is the trading arm of Advice Direct Scotland, a charity that supports all Scottish citizens.
We deliver a full CAB service over the phone and online. We give information to those who need it most, at times of crisis, to resolve their problems. The profit from our contact centre work therefore directly supports struggling families, individuals and communities.
We also aim to help people into work, providing jobs where they are needed and delivering training and support, so that we maintain a skilled workforce with sustainable jobs. We deliver excellent training that is person-centred, vocational and accredited.
Commissioning SED not only offers you the best services from a motivated workforce, but every penny spent can be part of your Corporate Social Responsibility outcomes.
Though our social impact is in Scotland, we operate across the UK, and currently work with companies in Scotland, England and Ireland.
Excellence in customer care
We get to know you and what you want, and work hard to achieve your outcomes in a spirit of collaboration. Your outcomes become our outcomes.
We will deliver a consistently high standard of customer care for all our clients, by listening and responding. During and after every piece of work, we welcome suggestions for improvements, and will take action to enhance our service on an ongoing basis.
Our aim is for every customer to want to return, and to be delighted to recommend us to others.
Our commitment is to:
- Be professional and impressive
- Understand our customers' needs and deliver services that meet them
- Be warm and welcoming
- Treat all customers with respect
- Deliver a quality service on time and on budget
- Actively seek, listen to, monitor and respond to our feedback, comments and suggestions
All our staff are required to abide by this customer care ethos, which is embedded in our induction and ongoing training.
We have two contact centres, one in Stornoway and one in Glasgow. We are proud of our locations, and it is important to us to have a strong presence in those communities, rather than being anonymous.
We play a strong part in the local economy and contribute to community life.
